Goodwill’s Veteran Services offer employment services to all service members finding barriers to obtaining employment. Goodwill also has a grant through the Department of Labor to serve homeless veterans, referring them to housing resources and helping gain long-term employment.
As a veteran receiving services, you will meet one-on-one with a case manager to identify employment goals and work on the skills needed to make a successful transition from military to civilian employment. You will gain:
- A resume that employers will understand (translating skills)
- Interview skills to communicate how what you did in the military can benefit civilian employers
- Understanding of the civilian work culture
- Connections to hundreds of employers throughout West Michigan who are looking to hire veterans
Goodwill’s Veteran Services program is a member of the West Michigan Veteran Coalition (WMVC) and was the founding partner of the Greater Grand Rapids Veteran Services Forum.
