At Goodwill of Greater Grand Rapids, we’re committed to creating a positive environment where every member of our team feels accepted and empowered to rise to their potential. I RISE is the name of our team that’s dedicated to building a culture of belonging. I RISE reflects both our mission and core values: Integrity, Respect, Innovation, Stewardship, and Excellence. By leveraging community partnerships, educational initiatives, and the unique experiences of our team members, we aim to enrich our workplace culture. Our objective is to ensure Goodwill stands as a welcoming environment for all. Supporting this, we perform an annual Employee Engagement Survey to gain an understanding of our strengths and weaknesses, identify improvement opportunities, and establish clear goals.

Our I RISE mission statement is to empower employees to bring their authentic selves to work, fostering a sense of belonging.

For 2025, our goals include improving the employee engagement survey, utilizing marketing strategies to increase I RISE visibility and confidence throughout all levels of the organization, creating additional avenues for praising the positive work of employees, and regularly sharing training materials, links, and resources.
