Anyone who donates at participating Goodwill locations April 19 and 20 will receive $10 off $25 coupon

Goodwill Industries of Greater Grand Rapids is proud to partner with SpartanNash and its family of retail grocery stores – including Family Fare Supermarkets, Forest Hills Foods and D&W Fresh Market stores in the greater Grand Rapids area– during Earth Week, April 15-22.

“Earth Week with SpartanNash is a donation drive that Goodwill looks forward to each year, said Jill Wallace, chief marketing and communications officer at Goodwill Industries of Greater Grand Rapids. “With Goodwill being the world’s largest recycler of textiles, it is important that we continue to model this sustainability effort locally, as well as nationally. The awareness raised for a greener community not only benefits greater Grand Rapids, but the additional 19 locations that have become a part of this program over the years.”

Working with SpartanNash and its family of retail stores, anyone who brings a donation to participating Goodwill locations on Friday, April 19 or Saturday, April 20 will receive a coupon book, redeemable at Forest Hills Foods, Family Fare and D&W Fresh Market.

The book includes coupons for everyday food items – as well as a coupon for $10 off a $25 or more purchase.

“At SpartanNash, we love Earth Week, because it allows us to engage and educate our associates, store guests and communities while celebrating and promoting environmental stewardship,” said Meredith Gremel, SpartanNash vice president of corporate affairs and communications. “We are excited to continue our partnership with Goodwill and do some spring cleaning for a good cause. By donating clothing, electronics and household items to Goodwill, we can reduce landfill waste, promote reuse of products and create jobs through Goodwill’s job training programs.”

In total, SpartanNash has teamed up with 19 Goodwill Industries partners to hold Earth Week donation drives for customers and company associates. Since 2011, SpartanNash associates and store guests have diverted more than 630,740 pounds of materials from landfills, and Goodwill has converted these donations into 135,098 hours of workforce development training for people in their local communities.
