Frank is a great example of hard work and dedication. After living his entire life in Jackson, Michigan, his mother made the decision to move to Grand Rapids to be closer to family. Starting over was a big change for Frank, and his family contacted Goodwill to help with this transition. After working for over 20 years, Frank was determined to find a new job and purpose in his day-to-day life in Grand Rapids.
Frank committed to weekly meetings with his Goodwill career coach to build his resume, work on interview skills, and take tours of job sites in the community. He worked diligently to find the “perfect” spot, which he found at Frederik Meijer Gardens. Frank’s job is in the café which allows him the opportunity to do what he loves most, working in the community. While at the café, Frank makes sure the dining area is clean, safe, and sanitized. He is known for helping people to their seats and carrying trays. One of Frank’s supervisors nicknamed him “Super Frank” and said
“Frank is one of the most considerate employees at the café.”
Settled into his new life in Grand Rapids, Frank is now creating new goals for the future. Frank has accomplished a lot in the last year. We are so proud of him and can’t wait to see “Super Frank” continue to grow at the Gardens, and in life.
