Goodwill Names New Board Members

Goodwill of Greater Grand Rapids welcomes four new board members to the 21-member Board of Directors. The 4 elected members include Max Benedict, Khumbo Croft, George Grant Jr., and Isidore Okoro.

The 2017/18 first board meeting will be held September 25. Members will serve a three-year term under the direction of Board Chair, Scott MacGregor, Owner and President of TrackCore.

Board Member Backgrounds

A familiar face to Goodwill of Greater Grand Rapids, Benedict, Principal at Third Coast, served as Leadership Goodwill Chair in 2015/16. Benedict’s expertise in commercial properties is an asset to the Board along with his role on various public and private boards.

HR Compliance Manager at Gordon Food Service, Croft, brings policies and compliance related experience to the table. Additionally, she is a United Way of West Michigan Board member, a key community partner to Goodwill.

Dean of College of Community and Public Service, at Grand Valley State University, Grant, is an active community advocate for child welfare and has been with GVSU for the past nine years. His knowledge in child human services and strong community connections in the education sector and beyond are greatly welcomed.

Okoro has been with Miller Johnson for the past five years as the director of information technology. He is well versed in infrastructure strategy, strategic planning and budget analysis. These leadership skills are an asset to the Board.

Additionally, three Foundation Trustees have been added to the 17-member board. Their term is one year, September – August 2018. New additions are as follows: Peaches McCahill, President, The McCahill Group; Ginny Seyferth, President & Founder, Seyferth & Associates, Inc.; Carroll Velie, Director of Professional Development, Varnum Law.
